South Coast Highlight Tour

Includes YS Falls, Black River Safari and Treasure Beach

YS Falls opened in 1992. It is a nature-based attraction offering the opportunity to experience the beauty of the waterfalls surrounded by lush gardens and magnificent trees.

There are seven waterfalls, several which cascade into natural pools. Some areas are fairly rocky and do not allow swimming.  Lifeguards on site, indicate which areas are for swimming, however, being able to swim is a requirement. There is a natural pool, fed by underground and above ground springs, which is more suitable for children and others unable to swim.  More recent additions to the attractions at YS Falls, include exhilarating canopy rides, which glide from the top of the falls to its base. These adventures are accompanied by experienced guides to take care of you along the way.

Black River Safari

From a pontoon boat, enjoy Jamaica’s natural wildlife and tropical setting as you cruise down the Black River. Your eco-tour continues with a swim in the natural, cool water pool at the foot of YS Falls.

A scenic, 50-mile (80-km) drive southeast on the south coast delivers you to the parish of St. Elizabeth where you board a pontoon boat for a glide down the Black River towards the Caribbean Sea. Cruise through swamp and lush vegetation. While exploring remote mangroves, keep your ears open for native birds such as graceful egrets and herons and watch for the river’s most notorious inhabitants—crocodiles.

Once back on land, savor a traditional Jamaican lunch of chicken, fish, or pork as well as delicious fresh greens. Then take a short drive to the majestic, 120-foot (37-m) YS Falls.

The YS Falls are stunning as they pour down 7 tiers of cliffs into a natural pool that beckons you for a refreshing swim. Use the onsite changing rooms to slip into your swimsuit and then enjoy some time on your own taking in the natural wonders. Swim in the cool waters, walk along the river pathway, or relax and lounge on the riverbank before heading back to your hotel.
